Privacy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version
- Watching the tank collects nothing about you: no cookies, no analytics, no ad trackers.
- If you rent a creature or a banner, we keep what you enter at checkout, to run your rental and for your receipt.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card number.
- We don’t sell your details or use them for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at loopship33@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
When you watch
Nothing about you. The tank uses no cookies or analytics, and on tank.ad it loads nothing from other companies. Like any website host, ours (Fly.io) may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure. The tank itself doesn’t store IP addresses (it holds them briefly in memory to stop abuse). The tank also counts, without knowing who you are, how often each rental is on screen and how often its link is tapped, and shares those totals with the renter.
When you rent a creature or a banner
- Your wrap: the name on the fish or banner, its colors and layout.
- About you: your name and email, and your brand or company name and website if you give them.
- The rental: which creature (or banner), for how long, when it runs, and its booking reference.
- Your booking link: we keep only a scrambled copy (a hash) of the private link to your booking, never the link itself.
- Your logo or design: the picture you upload, if you do, and whether we approved it.
- Payment records from Stripe: a payment reference and the amount.
When you buy feeds
Your browser keeps a random wallet code. We keep only a scrambled copy of it, how many feeds it holds, and the payment record. There’s no account and no name.
Card details
You type them on Stripe’s page, and Stripe handles them under its privacy policy. We never see or store them.
2. What everyone sees
While your rental runs, everyone watching sees your wrap. Its card in the tank shows your brand name and website link. The tank’s directory lists the same brand, spot, website and dates while it runs and for up to 90 days after it ends. Your own name and email are never shown.
3. How we use it
We use your details to:
- put your wrap in the tank for the time you bought;
- let Stripe send your receipt;
- email you before your rental ends (with a link to renew) and send you its numbers each week while it runs;
- answer your questions and handle refunds;
- keep the tank safe from abuse;
- keep the business records the law requires.
For people in the EU and UK, the legal bases are:
- our contract with you (your rental or feeds);
- our legal obligations (records);
- our legitimate interest in keeping the tank safe.
4. Who we share it with
- Stripe, to take payments and make refunds.
- Fly.io, which runs our servers.
- Resend, which sends our emails to renters (your email, name and rental details go to it for that only).
- Anthropic, whose AI model (Claude) checks each logo or design, once the rental is paid, against our content rules before it goes up: the picture, the name on your wrap, your brand name and your website go to it for that check only. Anything it doesn’t clear waits for a person. An upload on a checkout that isn’t paid is not sent.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
That’s all. We don’t sell your details, rent them out or share them for advertising. Our servers and these providers are in the United States, so your details are stored and handled there.
5. What the tank keeps in your browser
There are no cookies. The tank keeps four small things in your browser’s storage, and you can clear them any time in your browser settings:

6. How long we keep it
- Rental and payment records: 7 years, for tax and accounting records, then we delete them.
- Your name and email: deleted on request, once we no longer need them for your rental, a refund or the law.
- Logos and designs: kept with the rental record; deleted on request once your rental has ended.
- Feed wallets: kept while they have feeds left. Ask us any time to delete yours; the feeds go with it.
7. Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to see the details we hold about you, correct them, delete them, or send you a copy. Email loopship33@gmail.com; include your booking reference (it starts with FT-) if you have one. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you’re in a US state with a privacy law, these rights include your rights under it. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
8. Children
The tank is fine to watch at any age. Renting and buying feeds are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect details from children under 13 (16 in the EU and UK). If you think we have, tell us and we’ll delete them.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects details we already hold, we’ll tell renters by email.
