Terms
The rules for watching the tank, renting a creature and buying feeds.
The short version
- Watching is free. Renting a creature puts your wrap on it, for everyone watching, for the time you buy. Then it comes off by itself.
- There’s one of each creature. Each wears one wrap at a time, and you can rent as many of them as you like.
- Your wrap has to follow the content rules. If it doesn’t, we take it down without a refund.
- Payments go through Stripe. When you get money back is in the refund policy.
1. Who we are
tank.ad is run by LoopShip, an unregistered business (a sole proprietorship) in Kentucky, United States (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at loopship33@gmail.com. By using the tank, renting a creature or buying feeds, you agree to these terms.
You must be 18 or older to rent a creature or a banner or to buy feeds. If you rent for a business, you confirm you’re allowed to act for it.
2. Using the tank
Anyone can watch the tank for free. Please don’t try to break it, overload it, copy it wholesale or get around its limits. We may change the tank, its creatures and its features at any time, and we may block anyone who misuses it.
3. Renting a creature or a banner
What you buy
Your wrap goes on the creature you choose, or on one of the three big spots in the scenery: the shipwreck’s sail, the castle tapestry, or the pirate flag on the skull. On a creature it shows your name (up to 18 letters or numbers), your colors and your layout. A big spot shows your own finished design, edge to edge, once we’ve checked it (see 3a); until then, or if you don’t send one, it shows your name in your colors. Either way it’s there for everyone watching, for the time you buy: a day, a week or 30 days. Each creature and each banner has one price for each length of time; nothing is added on top. The creature’s card shows your brand name and links to your website if you give one. The shark, the whale and the octopus come with their ability (the shark’s devour, the whale’s song, the octopus’s ink): anyone watching can fire it while your rental runs. When the shark’s devour is fired, the goldfish and the Moorish idol are swallowed and are out of the tank for about 3 minutes before they swim back; that time counts as part of their rentals.
One of each creature
The tank has one of each creature: one shark, one whale, one octopus, and so on, and one of each big spot: the sail, the castle tapestry and the skull flag. Each wears one wrap at a time, and renting never adds a second one. You may rent as many as you like, all of them if you want. Everything these terms and the refund policy say about a wrap on a creature applies to the big spots too. In the classic tank (for browsers that can’t show the 3D one), the skull shows your name in your colors; the sail and the castle tapestry don’t appear there.
3a. Designs on the big spots
A big spot takes a picture you upload at its exact shape and size, shown at checkout (for example 1536 × 2048 pixels for the sail). We crop it to that shape if it doesn’t fit. It must be yours to use and follow the content rules. We check every design before it goes up, in the order they arrive, usually within a day, and can turn one down; your rental runs either way, showing your name in your colors until a design is approved. A design turned down isn’t a reason for a refund, but you can send us another.
Renewing
You can renew from your rental’s link. A renewal starts the moment your current rental ends. Renewing while your rental is still running takes $10 off a week or $20 off 30 days; there’s no discount on a day, or after it has ended.
Launch week
Once we announce tank.ad’s opening, every rental for the next 7 days is half price (October 25, 2026 through November 1, 2026): any creature or banner, a day, a week or 30 days. The half price is fixed when you check out and lasts your rental’s whole run, even if it starts after launch week (for example, behind another rental). A renewal bought during launch week is half price too, and the renewal discount then comes off that. Nothing costs less than $0.50. Until launch week is announced and its dates are shown here, and after it ends, rentals are at the regular prices shown at checkout.
When it starts and ends
Your wrap goes live the moment your payment clears. If the creature is already rented, it goes live the moment the rental before yours ends, because rentals on a creature queue. The checkout shows when yours would start. When your time is up, your wrap comes off by itself.
Trying it on
“See it on the creature” (or on the banner) shows your wrap only on your own screen until you pay. Nobody else sees it.
What we don’t promise
The creatures roam the tank freely. At times another creature, a school of fish or another renter’s ability (an ink cloud, say) may pass in front of yours (or your banner) for a moment. We don’t promise any number of viewers, views, taps or clicks.
Abilities
An ability plays for everyone watching. When it fires, its creature swims to the front and center of the tank, then roams as usual. Afterwards it rests for 30 seconds before it can fire again, and each ability can fire only so many times in any hour, counted across everyone watching: the shark’s devour twice, the octopus’s ink 5 times and the whale’s song 10 times. After a devour, the goldfish and the Moorish idol swim back in about 3 minutes. Abilities are playful: rivals make room or lose the light for a moment, and no creature is ever hurt.
House brands and our own brands
The brands on creatures nobody has rented are placeholders. They aren’t real companies. Sometimes we show one of our own brands on a creature or a banner nobody has rented; it gives way the moment someone rents it.
4. Your brand
You keep all rights to your brand. You confirm that:
- you’re allowed to advertise it;
- your wrap and website link are accurate and lawful;
- they don’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
If someone makes a claim against us because of your wrap, logo, design or link, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees.
You let us show your wrap, brand name and link in the tank during your rental. That includes anyone’s screenshots or recordings of the tank made while it runs.
5. Content rules and take-downs
Wraps and links must follow the content rules. We may take a wrap down at any time, without notice, if:
- it breaks the rules or these terms;
- we’re told, and reasonably believe, that it breaks the law or someone’s rights.
What a take-down means for your money is in the refund policy.
6. The $1 Feed
Anyone watching can buy a feed pack. The price and the number of feeds are shown before you pay. Feeding a creature brings it to the spotlight at the center of the tank to eat, for everyone watching. One creature eats at a time. Feeds take turns, first come, first served, in one line shared by everyone.
Feeding Time. Twice a day the tank holds a short feeding round. Every feed eaten during it counts for that creature, and the most-fed creature wins a crown and the spotlight until the next round. It’s a game for fun: there’s no prize beyond the tank, and rounds may change or be skipped.
- Feeds have no cash value, and you can’t transfer or exchange them.
- Your feeds are kept by the browser you bought them in. There are no accounts. If you clear its storage or change devices, they’re gone, and we can’t restore them.
7. Payments
Payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe’s own page. We never see or store your card number. Prices are in US dollars, and the total, including any tax, is shown before you pay. Your bank may charge its own fees.
8. Refunds
See the refund policy.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the tank running day and night, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for maintenance or because something went wrong. The refund policy says what happens to a rental during a long outage.
10. Liability
The tank is provided as it is. As far as the law allows:
- we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or sales;
- our total liability for a rental or a feed pack is limited to what you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. A change applies to purchases made after that date.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Kenton County, Kentucky, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there.
